Sept. 19 - Home Winemaking Demonstration
Home Winemaking Demonstration
Join us at St. Paul's Lutheran Church for an entertaining evening of winemaking. At St. Paul's, we even make our own communion wine! One of our members, a home winemaking consultant, will teach you how to get started making your own wine from fresh fruits, juices or grapes. Free will offering will be accepted to support the ministries of St. Paul's. The class will be held Sunday, September 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul's (Hwy 7 and Baker Road in Mtka.). Call 952-938-4683 or send an email to secretary@saintpaulslutheran.org to make a reservation.
Discover the tricks to making great wine at home for yourself or to give as a fabulous gift with that uniquely personal touch. Learn the step-by-step process to make wine from fresh fruits, fruit juices and grapes, as well as bottling and labeling techniques. We'll prepare fruits and "balance" the juice so it's ready for the fermentation step.
The class will be taught by Beth Mikulay. Beth has developed a passion for home winemaking. She enjoys experimenting with organics and fresh fruit harvests as well as taking advantage of all the wonderful wine kits that have become available in recent years.
Let Beth pass along her knowledge of making great wines, inexpensively, in this fun, hands-on class.
Beth Mikulay, Winemaking Consultant
Beth works as a home winemaking consultant with a Twin Cities winemaking supply company. Beth helps her customers learn how to make their own wines and troubleshoots their winemaking problems. Beth has taught home winemaking through several adult community education programs as well as at the WinePress U.S. WineFest in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a member of the Purple Foot Wine Club. Beth has made over 1,200 bottles at home from fresh fruits, fruit juices, and wine kits. She has entered several wines at the 2009 Minnesota State Fair and was thrilled to bring home some ribbons.
