Choir Accompanist - Linda R. McGee

Favorite Bible Verse: "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet they believe."   "The first shall be last and the last shall be first."

I'm happy to say I am in my "third life" which consists again of Math and Music. In my first life I was a Math teacher in Minneapolis, followed by my second life at General Mills. After my retirement, I returned to teaching math part time at Hennepin Technical College. My piano education consisted of taking lessons for 10 years, the last four of which were taught by the nuns at St. Margaret's Academy (and believe me, you didn't want to make a mistake!). I've been at St. Paul's for over 25 years and have been the choir accompanist for 15 years. My husband Thomas and I have two grown children, Mary, who is a First Grade teacher in Bloomington, and Tom Jr. who is a Navy pilot in training in Kingsville TX.

Favorite Bible Verse: Acts 10: 34-36 ("The Message" version) Peter fairly exploded with his good news: "It's God's own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you're from. If you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel-that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again-well, he's doing it everywhere, among everyone."

I have been a member of St. Paul's since about 1972. I was brought here by simple convenience. St. Paul's was the only Lutheran Church within walking distance of my home when I moved to Minnetonka. I am still here (even though I have since moved to a different house) because of the continuing love, commitment, and support of this family of believers.

For many years I was an engineer, but I am now a Christian who happens to work in the engineering field. For me, life is all about being passionate. I am passionate about the life and members of St. Paul's and I am passionate about my work, but most of all, I am passionate about being a part of discovering what "God is up to" in our community and in our congregation, and about the opportunity to be an agent spreading the fire to the rest of our membership.

I have the great privilege of serving this congregation as its president as we enter this very exciting chapter in our history as we rededicate ourselves to Christ's mission.
