Favorite Bible verses: Psalm 104:33 “I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live.” and Psalm 81: 104 “Sing for joy to God our strength…begin the music, strike the tambourine, play the melodious harp and lyre.”
I started as St. Paul’s music director in December of 2004, just in time to enjoy the choir’s already prepared Christmas music,
and smack dab in the middle of the church’s remodeling project. I'm enjoying the fine voices and abundant wit in the choir and,
indeed, in the entire congregation, and (now that remodeling is over, and some organ and piano repairs have been accomplished)
everything is full speed ahead. I have, over the past 25 years, been a church musician at a Presbyterian Church in St. Paul,
a Congregational one in Cannon Falls, and at Vasa Lutheran between Cannon Falls and Red Wing. I have also been an English teacher,
an editor, a classical music (WCAL public radio) announcer/fundraiser, a woodworker, and a musical-instrument salesperson. My
present weekday job is in the University of Minnesota’s College of Continuing Education, in the Personal Enrichment Programs unit.
I have four grown children (Melissa in Minneapolis, Dan in Denver, Karl in the Marines, and Sara in St. Paul) and
five grandchildren (in Minneapolis and Denver). In addition to playing and singing as much music as possible, I enjoy reading,
walking, dancing, gardening and remodeling my home near Como Lake in St. Paul. |

| Choir Accompanist - Linda R. McGee |
Favorite Bible Verse:
"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet
they believe." "The first shall be last
and the last shall be first."
I graduated from the University
of Minnesota with a B.S. in Math Education and
an M.A. in Math Education. I took piano lessons
for 10 years, the last four of which were taught
by the nuns at St. Margaret's Academy (and believe
me, you didn't want to make a mistake!). I've
been at St. Paul's for 18 years and have been
the choir accompanist for eight years. My husband
Thomas and I have two children, Mary, who will
be a Sophomore at Valparaiso University this Fall,
and Tom Jr. who will be a Junior at Hopkins High. |

Favorite Bible Verse:
Acts 10: 34-36 (“The Message” version)
Peter fairly exploded with his good news: "It's God's own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you're from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel—that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again—well, he's doing it everywhere, among everyone."
I have been a member of St. Paul’s since about 1972. I was brought here by simple convenience. St. Paul’s was the only Lutheran Church within walking distance of my home when I moved to Minnetonka. I am still here (even though I have since moved to a different house) because of the continuing love, commitment, and support of this family of believers.
For many years I was an engineer, but I am now a Christian who happens to work in the engineering field. For me, life is all about being passionate. I am passionate about the life and members of St. Paul’s and I am passionate about my work, but most of all, I am passionate about being a part of discovering what “God is up to” in our community and in our congregation, and about the opportunity to be an agent spreading the fire to the rest of our membership.
I have the great privilege of serving this congregation as its president as we enter this very exciting chapter in our history as we rededicate ourselves to Christ’s mission. |
